A resident of Margao, Dr. Gautam Vithal Kamat completed his M.B.B.S at Goa Medical College in 2003. He completed his M.S. (General surgery) at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College ,Belgaum. He completed his M.R.C.S from the prestigious Royal college of Edinburgh in 2010. Dr Gautam has been trained as a fellow by the world renowned Laparoscopic surgeon Dr C. Palanivelu at GEM Hospital Coimbatore in 2011 ,where also completed his Fellowship in Minimal Access Abdominal Surgery awarded by Dr. MGR Medical university, Chennai. Observing the huge surge in Cancer cases in Goa, he decided to fight for the cause completing his fellowship at the TATA Memorial Hospital Mumbai under the Guidance of Dr Shailesh Shrikanande. He has authored the Cross sectional study to detect prevalence of hyperhomocysteinemia in cases of Deep Vein Thrombosis. Additionally, he has been a part and presented many papers and publications to the medical fraternity. He has successfully completed over 4000 surgeries including cancer, advanced laparoscopic and general procedures till date.
